An essential element to participate and understand politics is to analyze political issues.
Identifying issues that you find interesting also creates opportunities to participate in politics. For this
research paper, you must introduce a public policy issue (crime, drug policy, immigration, or any issue
you find interesting). After describing your issue, you must identify a specific bill or policy that is being
discussed in congress. Subsequently, discuss the positive and negative attributes of the bill. Conclude the
paper by making a case for whether or not you think the bill should become a law. This analysis can be
for a bill in the State of California or Federal Government legislatures.
