short story “everyday use” by Alice Walker and “Bullet in the Brain” by Tobias Wolff

For your research essay, choose two short stories (“Everyday Use” by Alice Walker and “Bullet in the Brain” by Tobias Wolff) that you find some aspect in common. Then, your essay will be about the critical reception of those two stories. You will be required to find two academic articles on each story and characterize the critical dialogue surrounding your two stories. The articles will be chosen from the three following databases: the MLA Bibliography, JStor, and Academic Search Complete. Read your articles and give a quote base summary of what they are concerned about in regards to your stories. It will be most helpful if your articles all talk about a similar idea in the story, so you will have to do some browsing and searching to find a really good set of articles to work with
