grounded theory

One way in which students develop their writing and evaluation skills is to critique the writing of others. For this exercise, students should obtain an empirical research study. Review, theory, or historical articles are NOT acceptable. IOR may require students to read a correlational study or they may read an experimental study. Students will read and critically evaluate the article, including the introduction, methodology, results, and discussion. Because some of the statistical techniques used in psychology articles may be beyond what students are learning in this course, they will not be expected to thoroughly evaluate the results section of the article. Students should consider the statistical analysis of the data to the best of their ability with the tools that they have learned, and will be expected to write a two page, double-spaced critical evaluation of the chosen article.
